Hitachi introduces EX56007-P large excavator
Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd has released the ‘EX5600-7P’ ultra-large hydraulic excavator. This backhoe specification model, with an operating weight of 558 ton, increases production capacity by 12 per cent compared to the previous EX5600-7 model. The EX5600-7P also improves the durability of the boom, arm and upper body frame, with this increased durability the result of a focus on Australian conditions for the new model.

Since the release of the UH50 (operating weight of 159 ton) ultra-large hydraulic excavator in 1979, Hitachi Construction Machinery's ultra-large hydraulic excavators have been operating at mining sites around the world, earning high praise for their work capacity, reliability and durability. In particular, Hitachi has delivered many of these ultra-large units to Australia.
To increase its competitive advantage in the Australian market, Hitachi Construction Machinery decided to release the EX5600-7P - a new product with enhanced production capacity and durability compared to the current model.

The EX5600-7P ultra-large hydraulic excavator expands the bucket capacity compared to the current model and increases the power of the engine and hydraulic pump to improve the vehicle's operating speed and increase the production capacity by 12 per cent. In addition, the excavator features expanded use of high-strength steel castings in the boom, along with improved structures and welding methods for the arm and upper body frame to enhance durability.
Going forward, Hitachi Construction Machinery will aim to become a close and reliable partner that helps solve customer issues of "improving safety and productivity," "reducing life cycle costs," and "reducing the environmental impact."

Hitachi EX5600-7P - Main features
1. Increased production capacity by 12%
Increased bucket capacity from 34 cubic metres to 37.5 cubic metres. The operating speed of the vehicle was also improved by increasing the power of the engine and hydraulic pump. As a result, production capacity is increased by 12 per cent compared to the previous model. In addition, the fuel efficiency (production capacity per litre of diesel) was increased by roughly 10 per cent.
2. Improved the durability of the boom, arm, and upper body frame
Scope of application of steel castings was expanded in the boom, the arm and upper body frame, incorporating improved structures and welding methods to enhance durability. These changes reduce the frequency of overhauls. In addition, access holes (patent pending) that can be opened and closed with bolts were installed in the boom to make it easier to inspect the inside of the boom.
3. Compatible with LANDCROS Connect Insight, a solution to increase mining operation efficiency
The EX5600-7P is compatible with LANDCROS Connect Insight, a solution that retrieves and analyses operational data of mining machinery, in close-to-real time to provide consulting services aimed at maximising the performance of customer equipment. This solution enables customers to improve the efficiency of their mining operations.
